As an additional cost to cast this spell, torment yourself. (You lose 3 life unless you discard a card or sacrifice a nonland permanent.) Destroy target creature.
Target player reveals their hand. Exile a nonland card from it and put a secret counter on it. As long as that card remains exiled, that player may pay {2} any time they could cast a sorcery to put it into their hand. {X}{B}{B}, Exile Swipe Secrets from your graveyard: Until end of turn, you may cast target card you exiled with a secret counter on it and mana value X without paying its mana cost.
When Taken Away enters, target opponent reveals their hand. You choose a nonland card from it and exile that card until Taken Away leaves the battlefield. You may cast that card for as long as it remains exiled, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any type to cast that spell.
[+2]: Up to one target creature gets -1/-1 until your next turn. Tap it. You may remove all counters from it. [–2]: Destroy target creature with no counters on it. [–10]: Each opponent's life total becomes equal to the number of creatures they control.
Return target creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield. Fabled {2}{B}(Then if you cast this for its fabled cost, put it onto the battlefield transformed attached to that creature.)
Put target creature card from a graveyard onto the battlefield under your control. If it doesn't have vanishing, put three time counters on it and it gains vanishing. (At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter from that permanent. When the last is removed, sacrifice it.)
Target player reveals their hand. You and that player secretly choose a nonland card from it. Then those cards are revealed. That player discards the chosen cards.
The Refractors are difficult to appease, but they can be impressed.
Search your library for a card, put that card into your hand, then shuffle. If you control two or more creatures with -1/-1 counters on them, add {B}{B}{B}. Agonize (You may cast this card from your graveyard by putting a -1/-1 counter on a creature you control in addition to paying its other costs. Then exile this card.)
Choose target opponent. Scry 3, then reveal the top card of your library. The chosen player discards an amount of cards equal to that card's mana value. (To scry 3, look at the top three cards of your library, then put any number of them on the bottom of your library and the rest on top in any order.)
Trial 3 (As you cast this spell, an opponent of your choice may pay 3 life. If they don't, they fail the trial.) Target creature gets +1/+0 and gains menace until end of turn. If the trial was failed, other creatures you control gain menace until end of turn.
Search your library for a card and put that card into your hand. Then shuffle. When Tharyen's Machinations is engorged, you may search your library for a card with the same mana value as the permanent that engorged it, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle.
